The problem was that I didn't include SpringSecurity dialect into Template Engine:

Proper way to negate thymeleaf expression is just by adding word not in front of it:

or as another example:

I too got this error as "org.springframework.expression.spel.SpelEvaluationException: EL1007E: Property or field 'userPrincipal' cannot be found on null "
